High School Tennis
Our two local high school tennis teams, Argonaut and Amador, will begin their match season in February. The Argonaut Mustangs,
coached by Andy O'Loan and Jerry Beeman, will seek to defend last year's league championship.
Chris Fuller returns as coach of the Amador
Buffaloes and will bring great competition to the league.
High school matches are
free so come out and watch some exciting tennis and support our local youth. You may even see some of our
Jr. Team Tennis alumni who are now playing at the varsity and junior varsity levels!

Board Sets Goals for 2011
On January 21st, the 2010 ATC Board of Directors and other interested club members held the organizing meeting for 2011 over a potluck dinner of
Mexican food. Delicious and decisive.
The discussion covered a review of activities, projects and successes for 2010, as well as a status report on a few unfinished items.
Membership Drive is On
The Amador Tennis Club has always operated on the principle that we provide tennis opportunities to all who want to join in, regardless of the payment of dues. While we intend to continue our “all inclusive” position, we also appeal to those of you who benefit from our activities and communication to support the organization that supports your tennis.
This year your board made a decision to increase family membership dues from $10 to $20; individual memberships are still only $10. Those tennis players with current “paid” memberships will be entitled to discounts on upcoming tennis events and ATC logo-wear to be offered in spring of 2011.
Your annual dues help sustain YOUR LOCAL TENNIS organization. We provide insurance so that tennis tournaments, clinics, group lessons, and junior tennis league activities may take place on school and public courts.
Over the past years ATC has organized major capital improvement projects resulting in tournament quality lighting and resurfacing / renovation for Argonaut High School tennis courts. In addition to these types of projects, the ATC has successfully organized and run a junior team tennis league for the past six years (spring and fall).
In 2011, we will again run our spring season of Junior Team Tennis––expanded to an eight match schedule. In lieu of our fall season, we plan to offer a series of group tennis lessons and clinics specifically for our younger, less experienced players. We’ll also target the progression of the older juniors to better prepare them for participation in high school tennis.
We’re not leaving our high school players or seniors out of the mix either. We hope to offer at least one group
tennis lesson per month with local or visiting tennis pros. (The next one features Andy O’Loan on February 26th.)
Also slated for 2011:
Our spring fundraiser tournament is once again slated for the last weekend in March
Our major project is the installation of restroom facilities near the tennis courts at Argonaut High School
Tennis socials the 4th Saturday night of each month, June - September
All of these things happen because of the donated time and talent of tennis players like yourselves. No one receives payment for services other than the pleasure
of playing tennis and helping others to “get into the game.” Please send your membership dues today (address at left) and help support your local community tennis association.
